Stührling
Stührling is a not a Swiss company that manufactures and sells watches and their accessories. The most popular brand of Stührling is Stührling Original. The company's claims its goes back to the 1800s on the hands of master watchmaker Max Stührling.〔(History of Stuhrling. )〕 Note that the reference is back to the company's own website. The company was established recently, 'it claims 1999' to design and develop thousands of new watch models. The company, however, is based in China and attempts to sell the majority of its knock off Swiss watch designs to consumers in Asia and budget purchasers in the USA, given from the location of its retail stores.
Stuhrling does its best to market itself as a Swiss company but is in fact a product of China. The marketing headquarters and the founder behind the brand, 'Chaim Fischer' (), are both from New York. Key to its retail strategy is to create a brand which sounds Swiss German, however, the obvious indicators that it is not a Swiss watch maker is that the watches are not made in Switzerland and the company has no retail stores in Switzerland. The term 'Swiss Made' is very different from 'Made in Switzerland"
